Write spell scrolls, books and Codices, and support eligible Magery effects. Maximum skill: 120 with Power Scrolls; useful alongside Magery.
Set Inscription to Up ↑ and leave room under your 720 total skill cap.
| Skill Range | Recommended Activity |
|---|---|
| 0–50 | Buy an optional lesson from a Scribe for 300 gold; it raises this skill directly to 50.0. |
| 50–60 | Make Lightning Scrolls: 1 Mandrake Root, 1 Sulfurous Ash, 1 Blank Scroll; 11 mana. |
| 60–90 | Make Energy Bolt Scrolls: 1 Black Pearl, 1 Nightshade, 1 Blank Scroll; 20 mana. |
| 90–110 | Make Flame Strike Scrolls: 1 Spider’s Silk, 1 Sulfurous Ash, 1 Blank Scroll; 40 mana. |
| 110–120 | Make Energy Vortex Scrolls: Black Pearl, Bloodmoss, Mandrake Root and Nightshade, 1 each; 1 Blank Scroll and 50 mana. |
Above 100, use matching Power Scrolls in order: 105, 110, 115, then 120. They unlock caps without granting skill points.
Right-click the teacher NPC, select the skill’s training entry, then give 300 gold. You need a skill cap of at least 50 and room for the entire lesson under your total cap.
An eligible direct PvP spell gains up to +10% from trained Inscription through 100, then +1/+2/+3/+4 flat damage at 105/110/115/120. Flame Strike instead gains up to +6 flat damage at 120. Tracking does not raise spell damage. Supported buffs and wards gain six seconds of minimum duration per effective Inscription point, capped at 100. Native PvM Magery contribution also stops at 100. A Runebook requires Inscription 90, 20 Blank Scrolls and 10 Arcane Essence; PvM Codex recipes require Inscription 100 and their listed materials.
