Fencing

Combat · Skill guide

Controls accuracy with weapons using Fencing. Maximum skill: 120 with Power Scrolls; useful alongside Tactics and Anatomy.

Summary

  • Use: Equip a spear or blade using Fencing and attack a valid opponent.
  • Accuracy improves with practice; it does not guarantee every hit.
  • Tactics and Anatomy support weapon damage.
  • Warrior PvM techniques also need Mysticism and the Warrior Codex.

Training

Set Fencing to Up ↑ and leave room under your 720 total skill cap.

Fencing recommended training route
Skill Range Recommended Activity
0–50 Buy an optional lesson from a Blacksmith for 300 gold; it raises this skill directly to 50.0.
50–80 Spar with Academy Warrior targets using the matching weapon.
80–120 Fight challenging creatures or a similarly trained sparring partner outside the Academy.

Above 100, use matching Power Scrolls in order: 105, 110, 115, then 120. They unlock caps without granting skill points.

Right-click the teacher NPC, select the skill’s training entry, then give 300 gold. You need a skill cap of at least 50 and room for the entire lesson under your total cap.

Mechanics & Scaling

A Warrior Codex uses Mysticism as its PvM role skill while Fencing selects the fencing technique set.

Additional rules & notes

  • Choose targets that still challenge your skill; an outgrown opponent may stop giving the relevant checks.
  • A Training Spear offers safer sparring. Watch your partner’s health and heal between attempts.

Location & Instructors

  • Trainer NPC: Blacksmith, Weaponsmith or Warrior to 50.0.
  • Academy: Fight targets with a fencing weapon to 80.0.
