Craft potions for healing, cures and combat effects. Maximum skill: 100; useful alongside Poisoning.

Summary

  • Use: Double-click a mortar and pestle; choose a recipe with the required reagents and empty bottles.
  • The crafting menu shows ingredients and success chance.
  • Making a poison and applying it to a weapon use different skills. Alchemy does not improve the finished coating’s combat delivery.

Training

Set Alchemy to Up ↑ and leave room under your 720 total skill cap.

Alchemy recommended training route
Skill Range Recommended Activity
0–50 Buy an optional lesson from an Alchemist for 300 gold; it raises this skill directly to 50.0.
50–60 Make Agility Potions: 1 Bloodmoss and an empty bottle.
60–100 Make Greater Heal Potions: 7 Ginseng and an empty bottle.

Right-click the teacher NPC, select the skill’s training entry, then give 300 gold. You need a skill cap of at least 50 and room for the entire lesson under your total cap.

Mechanics & Scaling

Alchemy is a professional skill and therefore uses the slower profession gain rate. Potion effects and ingredient costs are recipe-specific. Alchemy and Enhance Potions do not change a poison coating’s tier, charges, damage or weapon-delivery chance.

Additional rules & notes

  • A failed attempt can consume materials. Carry spare bottles and reagents.
  • Drinking a potion does not require a free hand.

Location & Instructors

  • Trainer NPC: Alchemist NPC to 50.0 for exactly 300 gold.
  • Academy: No universal Academy station; craft recipes close to your current skill.
